Loaded up the backback today with some weight: water bottles, camera and other assorted items to replicate some of the expected weight. Took off around the 'wilds' of the local area -no lion sightings today !!
In August 2012 I will be climbing the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro the world’s highest free standing mountain. The 7 day trek will ascend Africa’s highest peak (5,895m or 19,341 ft) I will keep you posted of my training and fundraising progress. Donations support at http://www.gofundraise.com.au/page/HardyM

Welcome to my blog -Mount Kilimanjaro challenge
Welcome to my world of exciting challenges for the next 9 months - Fundraising on behalf of Amnesty International Australia (target amount of $10,000) and physical preparation for the climb up Mount Kilimanjaro! Thank you to everyone who donated to date and pledged support in my quest.
I have assembled a great campaign support team of Di, Cait and Kathy who are full of ideas and enthusiasm to help me achieve my goals.
In addition to fundraising I have committed to a training schedule to prepare me for the challenge ahead and I intend to blog my progress over the coming months and post any coming events.
